NEW TEAM MANAGEMENT AND COMMUNICATIONS TOOL

This year, the Foxes will begin using a new platform for team management and communications. StatZone will be replacing TeamSnap for the 2024-25 season, and all members by now should be seeing their rosters populating and in some cases have already begun communicating! StatZone is also the system used for tryout registration and tracking, so having everything under one roof so to speak should prove to be very beneficial.

As with any new piece of technology, the occasional hiccup is inevitable. The good folks over at StatZone have been extremely helpful and responsive in addressing our issues and we look forward to a seamless transition. Having said that, we did experience a snag with the first few communications that were sent out organization-wide, so we wanted to post those here for your reference. Click the button below for information regarding the first official "Welcome" message, elections for certain Board of Directors seats, uniform fittings, fundraising events, and the Durkin Sports Performance camp.

PLAYOFF CHAMPIONS!

The Arctic Foxes are proud to boast 3 PAHL Playoff Champions for the 2023-24 season!

PW1, under the direction of head coach Mike Fayad, was able to secure their banner by doing it the hard way: They overcame a 0-3 deficit in game one to win 4-3 in double overtime, bested the regular season banner winners in the second game 5-3 after being down twice throughout the game, and were able to triumph in the championship game over a team that had beaten them both times in the regular season. This team showed a never-quit attitude and a truly remarkable will to win - Congratulations PW1!!

16U-3, coached by Todd Zerega, had a strong season throughout - compiling a 17-1-4 PAHL record and winning both the regular season and playoff banners! Getting the bye into the 2nd round of the playoffs, the team secured their spot in the championship game with a strong 4-1 victory in the semi-final round. In the final game, with the score tied 1-1 with 45 seconds left in the 3rd period and killing a late penalty, the Foxes were able to intercept a centering pass in their own end and clear it up the boards where it was picked up and buried at the other end to secure the win with 16 seconds left! Congratulations 16U-3!!

18U-2, led by Glenn Birkenfeld, capped their season by sending 12 graduating seniors out in style - but not without a little nail biting! With the Foxes up 2-1 with 27 seconds left in the 3rd, their opponent pulled their goalie and was able to tie it up and send it to OT. Goaltending came up huge, turning aside a breakaway with 23 seconds left in the extra frame, and the game went into double overtime. Playing with a 4-on-3 man advantage, the Foxes had enough and were able to bang home a rebound and pull out the 3-2 win! Congratulations 18U-2!!

2024 Banquet.jpg

2023-24 AFHA SEASON BANQUET

Our annual End-of-Season Banquet was held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Cranberry Township on Sunday, March 24th. A packed ballroom of over 600 players, coaches, managers, family members, and friends enjoyed an afternoon of raffles, prizes, and a fantastic buffet lunch in celebration of another successful season! In addition to team baskets, some of the prizes won included a hockey stick chair, 2 tickets and a zamboni ride at an upcoming Penguins game, hockey stick headboard, Pirates tickets, a Pittsburgh Sports basket with tons of merch, and an autographed Sidney Crosby jersey!

Special thanks to Bethany Klisavage, Arctic Foxes Events Coordinator, for organizing and emceeing another wonderful banquet. Great Job Bethany!
